Maurice Fitzgerald
Partner – Audit & Business Advisory

Maurice Fitzgerald has been a practicing Chartered Accountant for over 25 years, spending the earlier part of his career working abroad Maurice gained invaluable international auditing and taxation experience.
A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Maurice is one of our founding Partners and his leadership has ensured the firm’s growth and pursuit of excellence.
The diverse nature of Fitzgerald Power’s practice has afforded Maurice considerable experience across a broad range of disciplines, with Business Advisory and Tax Incentive schemes being particular areas of specialisation.
Maurice’s principal area of specialisation is Retail Pharmacy. He has unmatched experience and is considered a leading expert in this area.
David Power
Partner – Audit & Business Advisory
- Corporate Restructuring & Business Advisory
David is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a founding partner of the firm.
Qualified since 1976, David has specialist experience in the many areas of Audit and Business Advisory and brings his extensive knowledge to bear in advising a wide range of owner managed businesses
David also heads our Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency division where he is responsible for the management of a wide range of services relating to insolvency and financial difficulty.
Martin Hill
Partner – Audit & Business Advisory
Martin joined Fitzgerald Power in 2002, based in the Waterford office, with previous United Kingdom partnership experience and following a successful transition period, has been a partner within the practice since 2003.
Martin has core skills / experience in audit, accounting, company secretarial and taxation and has developed a specialisation in the Retail Pharmacy Industry and is widely considered to be one of the leading experts in that field in Ireland. Further specialisations include the Hotel and Property Rental/ Construction Industries.
Martin brings dynamism and a high degree of professionalism to his role, which combined with a large slice of hard work and goal orientation ethic, ensures that all clients receive the highest possible quality and standard of service.
John McHugh
Partner - Audit

John assumed his current responsibility as partner with Fitzgerald Power in February 2006.
He has been with the firm since 1999 having previously worked in the financial
services sector. He graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a Business & Economics
degree in 1994 and received a Masters in Accounting (Macc) degree from the Smurfit
school of business (UCD) in 1999.
John completed his articles with the firm in 2002. He is based in the Carlow office.
George Prizeman
Senior Manager - Taxation
A Member of the Institute of Taxation of Ireland, George joined Fitzgerald Power as Senior Manager for Taxation in September 2007. Prior to joining the firm he was Tax Manager for a medium sized accountancy practice based in Dublin. George has had extensive experience in working closely with clients addressing both their business and personal tax planning and tax compliance requirements. He is based in our Waterford offices.
Catriona Threadgold
Senior Manager - Audit / Pharmacy Advisory
Catriona holds an honours degree in Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) from University College Dublin and a Masters of Business Studies degree (MBS) from the Smurfit School of Business. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
She commenced employment with Fitzgerald Power in January 2000 and has continued with our firm following completion of her articles, where she has progressed to her current position of Senior Manager - Audit.
Catriona has gained substantial experience in planning and executing audit assignments and specialises in the area of retail pharmacy, where she has gained invaluable expertise.
Catriona also heads our training and education division where she is responsible for the design and delivery of training courses for business people.
